The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) has completed a Preliminary Environmental Assessment-Equivalent report (PEA-E) for the Food Services Upgrade Project at 93rd Street Elementary School in Los Angeles, California. The PEA-E presents the findings of environmental investigations performed and recommended removal of six cubic yards of soil containing elevated levels of lead and 120 cubic yards of soil containing elevated levels of arsenic.  Various notifications were made seeking public input including publication in English and Spanish language newspapers and a public meeting was held on June 6, 2016.  The identified contaminated areas were covered with asphalt.
