AIR QUALITY, OZONE, AND HEAT ADVISORIES FOR JULY 27, 2026

The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) forecasts air quality levels on Monday, July 27, 2026, to be “unhealthy for sensitive groups” for communities in the San Gabriel Mountains. Sensitive or susceptible persons, including children, older adults and those with heart or lung disease, should minimize outdoor activity. Refer to the attached map of schools that fall within the designated area.

Additionally, the SCAQMD issued an ozone advisory through July 27, 2026, for the inland parts of the South Coast Air Basin including areas within the Los Angeles Unified School District boundaries (the San Fernando Valley, the San Gabriel Valley, and the San Gabriel Mountains). Air quality may reach “unhealthy for sensitive groups” or higher levels in most areas within District boundaries due to elevated ozone air pollution from the heat wave currently affecting the region. Sensitive or susceptible persons, including children, older adults and those with heart or lung disease, should minimize outdoor activity.
