AIR QUALITY ADVISORY FOR AUGUST 28, 2026 OZONE ADVISORY AND EXTREME HEAT WARNING THROUGH AUGUST 28, 2026
The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) forecasts air quality levels on Friday, August 28, 2026, to be "unhealthy for sensitive groups" for communities in the West San Gabriel Valley and South San Gabriel Valley. Sensitive or susceptible persons, including children, older adults and those with heart or lung disease, should minimize outdoor activity. Refer to the attached maps of schools that fall within the designated areas.
Additionally, the SCAQMD issued an Ozone Advisory through August 28, 2026, for the inland parts of the South Coast Air Basin. Air quality may reach "unhealthy for sensitive groups" or higher levels in the San Gabriel Valley due to elevated ozone air pollution from the heat wave affecting the region.
